General French 0 – NCLC 4

Language: Bilingual (Mandarin / English / French)
Description: Foundation stage covering phonetics, core vocabulary, and essential grammar. Instruction primarily in Mandarin to support comprehension at beginner stage.
Learning Goals: Solid phonetic foundation (A0). Core grammar and vocabulary for daily communication (A1). Compound tenses and complex sentences; improved listening and speaking (A2).
Suitable for: Absolute beginners with no prior French knowledge, including newcomers to Canada.
Total Hours: ~99 hrs | Full-time: ~6 weeks | Part-time: ~11 weeks
Language: Bilingual (Mandarin / English / French)
Description: Intermediate stage focusing on B1/B2 grammar essentials and exam strategy. Combines authentic practice materials to strengthen all four skills.
Learning Goals: Master B1/B2 grammar core points. Develop exam strategies. Strengthen all four skills in accuracy and fluency.
Suitable for: Students at approximately A2–B1 level aiming to improve for work, immigration, or exam preparation.
Total Hours: ~51 hrs | Full-time: ~3 weeks | Part-time: ~5 weeks

Description: Intensive exam preparation targeting high-frequency topics. In-depth analysis of question types combined with authentic practice.
Learning Goals: Target high-frequency exam content. Strengthen core language abilities. Achieve solid B1+ level in all four skills.
Suitable for: Students at NCLC 5 targeting NCLC 6 for professional, academic, or immigration purposes.
Total Hours: ~51 hrs | Full-time: ~3 weeks | Part-time: ~5 weeks

Description: Advanced sprint targeting CLB 7 exam requirements. Specialized training on advanced expression techniques.
Learning Goals: Master advanced expression. Targeted training on CLB 7-level challenges. Improve fluency and precision.
Suitable for: Students at NCLC 6 targeting NCLC 7 for Express Entry permanent residency or Quebec CSQ.
Build language and academic skills for college entry.

Q1. What is MLI Canada?
MLI Canada is a leading language school with campuses in Montréal, Toronto, and Vancouver, offering premier English and French programs for international students and local learners. We provide Pre-College pathways, exam preparation courses, and seasonal programs to support language development and cultural immersion.
MLI is committed to personalized learning through small class sizes. Chinese-speaking student classes typically have 6–8 students. International student classes typically have 10–12 students. Each class is supported by a qualified instructor and a dedicated academic coordinator.
We offer: General French (all levels, NCLC 0–7), General English, TEF/TCF Canada Exam Preparation, DELF/DALF, Pathway Pre-College Programs, 1-on-1 Private Lessons, Kids’ French and English Courses, and seasonal Social Programs and Camps.
Yes. We offer French courses for all levels, from absolute beginners (A0) to advanced learners (C2).
Yes. Depending on the course, students may choose online, in-person, or hybrid learning options.
Full-time programs run 5 days per week (15 hrs/wk) and are designed for intensive learning. Part-time programs run 3 days per week (9 hrs/wk) and are suitable for professionals or students with busy schedules.
All new students complete a placement assessment before starting. This helps us determine the most appropriate class level for each student.
Yes. Depending on your level and class availability, you may join an existing class after taking a placement test.
You can register online through our website. Once submitted, our admissions team will contact you to guide you through the next steps. You may also visit us in person to speak with an academic advisor.
We offer flexible start dates throughout the year. New classes open regularly — approximately 2 to 3 new groups per month depending on demand and level. We recommend registering at least 2–3 weeks in advance as spots fill quickly. 
Yes, with advance notice. Please contact your campus to discuss available options.
French is the primary language of instruction. English support may be provided as needed, especially for beginners. If all students in a group are Mandarin-speaking, Mandarin support may also be available at the beginner level. 
Yes. Course materials are included. Students have access to an online learning platform after registration to download documents and resources, including: exam preparation materials, practice exercises, assignments, and additional self-study resources. 
A recorded video will be automatically available on the learning platform. Students may access it during the access period to catch up on missed content. 
Yes. Eligible students may receive the necessary enrollment documents after registration and payment. 
Students whose visa or study permit is denied may be eligible for a refund in accordance with MLI’s refund policy. Official refusal documentation is required. 
This depends on your nationality, immigration status, and course length. Please consult our admissions team for personalized guidance. 
The most commonly accepted French exams for Canadian immigration are TEF Canada and TCF Canada. Our advisors can help you choose the exam that best fits your goals. 
Progress depends on your current level, attendance, study intensity, and personal learning habits. Our advisors can create a personalized study plan based on your goals. 
Yes. Our Pre-College Pathway program is designed to help students strengthen language skills and meet the requirements for admission to our partner colleges: Aviron College, Cestar College, and ESIDEM College. 
Yes. We offer preparation for TEF Canada, TEFAQ (Montréal only), TCF Canada, TCF Q (Montréal only), DELF (A1–B2), and DALF (C1–C2).
